Lakeview neighborhood
Palette Bistro is located on Southport Ave in the Lakeview community, just one block north of Diversey, the border for the Lincoln Park Neighborhood. Lakeview is the second largest of Chicago’s community areas, with a population in 2000 of 94,817 residents. Early on in its history, the Lakeview area was one of the nation’s celery growing capitals.

The Lakeview neighborhood is well known for some of it more famous institutions, including Wrigley Field and the Cubs; the boystown area on Halsted Street in East Lakeview; significant retail areas on neighborhood streets along Broadway, Belmont, Clark, Southport and Lincoln.

Athenaeum Theatre – For significant performing arts events such as GCMC in its large auditorium, as well as up-and-coming theatre productions in the Athenaeum’s two studio theatre spaces. The Athenaeum is less than two blocks north of us on Southport – Enjoy the Show!

St. Alphonsus Church – This beautiful gothic Church dating from 1889 is just two blocks north of Palette Bistro.

DePaul University – The main DePaul University campus is not technically in the Lakeview neighborhood, but is only 8 blocks south and 2 blocks east of the restaurant.

Lakeview Chamber of Commerce – The Lakeview Chamber is organized to support the continued prosperity of businesses (like Palette Bistro) in the Lakeview Community.
